Explore the capital of Epirus

Ioannina, is located next to the lake Pamvotis and has a population of 120,000 inhabitants.

The first signs of human activity in the area date back to the Paleolithic era (38,000 years ago). This has been proven by the stone tools found in the Cave of Kastritsa.

The city was founded in 528 A.D. by the Byzantine emperor Justinian.

Ostensive points of interest are Ancient Theater of Dodoni (1st Ancient Theater of Greece), Ioannina castle, lake Pamvotis and the island, Perama cave, Vrellis museum of Greek history (wax effigies), Ligiades village, monasteries of Tsouka, Ntourachani, Kastrista, and more.

Tour time is about 4-8 hours.

There is an opportunity for sports on the coastal route of the lake, on the hill of Ioannina and even adrenaline-rush activities (such as paragliding) above the city of Ioannina. Sports and paragliding are performed by certified personnel.

It is also possible to cycle around the lake Pamvotida.
